BladeHawk: Apocalypse Home
| Those are some of the names many people used to refer to the day mankind would be whiped out by either a natural disaster...or by itself. Alot of us didn't think it would happen for thousands of years, when we were dead and gone. We were wrong. The entire human race was wrong. The Cold War that had been brewing between the Soviet Union and the United States of America since the 1950s reached its climax in the early 21st century. Russian military forces were massing on both the Chinese and Indian borders, cleary violating the anti-military buildup treaty signed by Soviet and American leaders in 1998. After weeks and weeks of unsuccesful meetings with the Russians, the U.S. was forced to strike the Russian armies, bombing them for two days straight, killing many enemy soldiers. However, the Russians were not about to fight a long, fair war. Fanatical politicians corrupting Russia's government called for the total eradication of all other non-Soviet nations in the world by way of so called "nuclear cleansing". Two weeks later, Soviet nuclear warheads began raining down upon cities up and down the east coast of America. Millions upon millions of innocent civilians were vaporized by the blasts, thousands more by starvation, dehydration, and nuclear fallout. Shortly afterwards, the remaining members of the U.S. government declared all-out war, requesting that all other freedom-loving nations of the world join them. But no help would come. Great Britian, being the small island that it was, was violently transformed into a nuclear wasteland under the brutal Russian warhead bombardments. France, China, India, Italy, and even Japan were quickly overwhelmed by the massive number of people that were either homeless, wounded, or dead, preventing them from being able to send any kind of military aide. The United States was now the only nation standing between the Soviet Union and world domination. The next few months of the third world war went by in a devistating blur. Hundreds of cities, both American and Russian alike, were whiped off of the face of the earth by nuclear blasts, and death was a common sight no matter where people went. Nobody really knows how long it lasted. All they cared about was surviving just one more day... As World War 3 waged on, the last barely-functioning nations around the globe began constructing massive fallout shelters dubbed "Arks". Civilians of all ages were herded into these Arks, along with two of each animal, in order to preserve mankind from the global effects of the nuclear explosions. We would be sealed into the Arks for years...waiting...hoping that when we finaly emerged from our underground world that there would be an earth to go back to. Several generations later, when the time lock on the massive doors of the Arks expired, those who managed to survive living underground left the Arks and stumbled out into the bright sunlight. At first, we believed that the U.S. and the Russians had finally made peace and that World War 3 was over. But that was not the case. When we tried to contact out government via radio, we recieved nothing but silence. Not one bird was heard singing among the stripped trees. Not one bear or deer was seen walking through the woods. It was clear that those people who remained on the surface fought to the bitter end...to extiction. Over the next few years, we began reconstructing our society to its former glory. The survivors in what used to be the United States of America formed the BladeHawk Clan, South American survivors began the SnakeSkin Clan, the people of Europe created the NewBlood Clan, and people in Canada called their new society the EagleTalon Clan. However, the fifth Clan to appear, called the NightStalker Clan, was created by ex-convicts and the surviving members of the Taliban and other terrorist groups, rapidly growing to become the main nemisis of the other peaceful Clans.
